Now in its fourth year, SoundNOW is proud to present the very best in classical contemporary music as performed by Atlanta’s premiere new music ensembles. Experience SoundNOW 2019 as nine Atlanta new music ensembles come together for another dynamic showcase of the city's vibrant new music scene! It’s a full week of wildly eclectic musical styles and chamber experiences. Join us and see for yourself why Atlanta is emerging as an important center of contemporary classical music in the southeast! You never know what you might hear next but you can expect world-class performances by some of the finest musicians in the United States!

Homegrown: Featuring music by Georgia State University School of Music composers including Robert Scott THOMPSON, Brent MILAM, Marc LEMAY, and Hanna Lisa STEFANSSON. Featuring the premiere of ITHACA by Nickitas DEMOS (text by Constantine P. Cavafy with a translation by Dr. Gregory Jusdanis, Humanities Distinguished Professor at The Ohio State University. Part of the Georgia State University School of Music 2018/19 Signature Series
Featuring a pre-concert lecture by Dr. Jusdanis, a noted Cavafy scholar: 6:15 - 7:15 PM on April 8 in Kopleff Recital Hall.

Untrammeled Featuring works by Stephen WOOD. The Atlanta Contemporary Ensemble will perform compositions from the Untrammeled album, graphic score improvisations of urban wilderness soundscapes, and a world premiere of Natural Sounds and Night Skies.

smol ensemble & MOLOQ • 7:00 PM • Poem 88 Gallery • Admission: $10 suggested donation at the door
Join us for the debut of a NEW contemporary music ensemble in Atlanta! The smol ensemble features toy pianists Amy O’Dell & Monica Pearce and percussionists Justin Greene & Paul Stevens. This inaugural program will feature premieres of compositions by Monica PEARCE and Justin GREENE as well as music by Eva-Maria HOUBEN and a performance of Music for Amplified Toy Piano by John CAGE.
Also joining smol ensemble on the concert will be the Atlanta-based duo Moloq performing their post-apocalyptic experimental pop music.
